The Club had held events in Sustainable St Albans Week for the last 2 years www.sigbi.org/st-albans/2016/sustainable/  and www.sigbi.org/st-albans-/2015/lush-2/ and was using the event as the beginning of the planning process for what to do next year when the event has moved to 21 – 29 April 2018 and also ongoing activities to improve our environment.

Please click on this link Sustainable St Albans – Ways to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint for a quick summary of some of the ideas Catherine gave us for reducing our carbon footprints. There are lots of online Carbon Footprint Checkers – get started by trying this simple one which Catherine introduced us to:  www.footprint.wwf.org.uk/

Find local sustainability information and events such as Open Food Gardens and Open Meetings with speakers at Transition St Albans webpage (also on Facebook and Twitter)  www.transitionstalbans.org

The Club’s Sustainable Environment and Wellbeing (SEW) Team are keen to encourage Members and supporters to make positive changes so do have a go at checking your Carbon Footprint to find your current level and then think about some changes you can make which will lower your rating. In the future we plan to ask Members about their Carbon Footprint level and about changes they have made or are considering making.
